The days of the quiet observer at an event are long gone. Today, audiences want to deeply engage with subject matter via fully immersive experiences. Therefore, we are calling all designers, makers, and other creatives to submit ideas for Detroit Month of Design’s inaugural Interactive Design Competition. Up to five winning teams will receive a USD2,000-5,000 stipend to go towards the costs of building materials, equipment, delivery, set-up and take away of an installation that will be showcased during the Detroit Month of Design.

The goal of this competition is to highlight the relevance that interaction and product designers play in society. Concentrating on the design, development, and use of interactive technologies for families, cities and government. The competition is looking for installations that encourage interactions between people, things or technology. Attendees are drawn to events that impart Instagram-worthy moments, and research shows this trend is not letting up. The appetite for interactive, and immersive events is growing. Apply today!

Who is eligible to apply? Submissions are open to the public. An emphasis is on showcasing Detroit talent but the competition is open to submissions from regional, national and international designers.
